Lisa Densem

Lisa Densem is a NZ born dancer and choreographer who has been living in Berlin since 1999. A graduate of the NZ School of Dance, Lisa worked for many years in NZ with the choreographers Douglas Wright and Michael Parmenter (amongst others) before moving to New York and later Berlin. In Berlin she began working with the company ‘Sasha Waltz and Guests’ and remained with the company for many years, creating and performing in the trilogy series, ‘Körper’, ‘S’, and ‘Nobody’, as well as numerous other works. In 2006 Lisa left the full time ensemble and began working independently. She has performed with, amongst others, Junko Wada, Eszter Salamon, Laurent Chetouane, Hanna Hegenscheidt, Jared Gradinger, Jana Unmüssig and Roni Katz and continues to teach, and create her own work. In 2013 she created the evening length work ‘We Have Been There’ for Footnote Dance Company in NZ and later in the year completed her final project for her MA in Berlin ‘Silently the Birds Fly Through Us’. Lisa is a 2014 graduate of the UdK MA Soda programme. Lisa’s most recent work has been with Roni Katz, ‘A Matter of Ones Own’ and Hanna Hegenscheidt ‘Not Good Alone’.
