Olivia Katbi Smith is the co-chair of the Portland chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. DSA is the largest socialist organization in the United States. DSA rejects all forms of exploitation and oppression and organizes with the ultimate goal of ending capitalism in favor of a society that is run by the people, for the people, not to make profit. In Portland, DSA has close to 1700 members and works on issues such as labor organizing, Medicare For All, abolishing ICE, climate organizing, Palestine solidarity, and more.
